Boy, Wash your F*n face
This ones for you, guys. It has come to my attention that we need to have a serious chat about the amount of men who don’t give a damn about washing their face at all or are all about using HAND SOAP to do it. Ladies, if you’re reading this, send this to the men in your life. We must save them from premature aging & clogged pores.
A survey done by Dove showed that only 46% of men wash their face & of those that do, 54% don’t wash their face before bed. What gives my dudes? Clean, clear skin is essential because bad skin signals infection, disease, and poor health. Younger men tend to have more oily skin than women, because their testosterone releases a lot more oil too!
Most dermatologists recommend washing your face twice a day with a face wash. No matter your skin type, you should not skip washing at night like half of America does. There is a ton of dirt, oil, and skin cells that accumulate on your face throughout the day that contributes to blackheads and breakouts. And sorry, you can’t use your body wash, bar soap in the sink, or as some insane guys have reported, the dish soap at the kitchen sink. Just stick with a facial cleanser. Here’s two of our favorites, https://bit.ly/2zqgSeK & https://bit.ly/2YTeMyM .
Why should you adopt a skin care routine?
Your skin is your largest organ and the largest giveaway for aging & poor hygiene, too. Not caring for your skin will not only cause issues such as breakouts, redness, & rashes, but will also cause premature aging signs such as wrinkles and dark spots.
How many different products do you “need”?
Let’s start by being realistic- will you do more than just wash your face? We’d love a yes, but let’s not say yes just to say it. If you’re concerned about the odds of you even remembering to wash your face- then starting with a cleanser may be your best bet right away. In our perfect world, we recommend 3 steps minimum: Cleanse, Tone, Moisturize. This is the baseline of any well-rounded skin care routine.
Cleanse: Removing dirt, excess oils, & dead skin cells that have accumulated on your face
Tone: Restores the skin's PH, Provides added protection, can help bind moisture to the skin
Moisturize: Provides hydration to the skin to help avoid dry spots + flakiness, fights wrinkles
Implementing just three products can be a game changer for any man's skin, but if you feel like you need added help for wrinkles, discoloration, scaring, etc- serums make a great addition.
